Mattress & Topper Care

1) Choose the right frame or base:

For stability, breathability and longevity of your mattress, we recommend either a slatted wooden frame (with no more than 2" of space between the slats), a box spring, or an upholstered foundation. Also ensure that your bed frame surface is flat (not bowed).

2) Flip or rotate every 3-6 months:

Flippable mattresses (the Suffolk, Devon and Portland) should be flipped once every 3-6 months. Always use caution when flipping a mattress, and get one or more people to help you.

Non-flippable mattresses (the Oxford) can be unzipped, and each individual latex layer can be flipped once every 3-6 months. But be sure to keep the order of the layers the same!

3) Cleaning:

**Caution** - do NOT put the outer casing of your mattress in the wash! The zippered case is not meant to be removed or washed, and it will shrink or become damaged if laundered.

To prevent spills and stains reaching your mattress, you may wish to use a protector. (Our wool protectors are all natural, very breathable and machine washable).

However, simple spot cleaning works on occasional spills and stains. Use a dry towel to soak up any excess moisture, and clean gently with a mild detergent and lukewarm water. And always allow to air dry.

Natural mattresses are quite resistant to dust mites, mold and mildew, however, the occasional vacuuming on the surface can help remove surface dust and move air through.

Protector Care

Wool protector:

Only requires occasional washing (recommended about once every 3 months) except in the case of accidents. Machine wash on cold, delicate cycle, ideally with a gentle or wool safe detergent. MUST be hung to dry.

Cotton protector:

Machine washable up to 60C and dryer safe. Do not dry clean or iron. Non-chlorine bleaches only.

Pillow Care

Our pillows do not require washing, but can be spot cleaned with warm water and a mild soap. After spot cleaning, rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly at room temperature, away from heat and light. Never place in a machine washer or dryer.

The zippered cover can be removed and washed in the washing machine with similar colour items using warm water and a mild detergent. Tumble dry using low heat. Do not bleach.

Blanket, Sheet & Duvet Cover Care

To wash all blankets, sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases - machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on warm. Remove promptly to prevent wrinkling. Do not dry clean, and use only non-chlorine bleach. Iron on high.
